Job Description

SUMMARY:

The Vice President, Sales and Marketing is responsible for supporting developing and implementing the sales structure and sales policy for the Subsidiary. He/she is also responsible for promoting within the Subsidiary any company sales initiatives. This position provides sales support and drives all sales efforts to meet or exceed sales growth. 70% of his/her time should be dedicated to these functions. The Vice President, Sales and Marketing is also responsible for supporting the EVP of Strategic Development with GAM accounts initiatives either directly or with the local sales structure. 30% of his/her time should be dedicated to this function.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

·        Implement overall sales structure and policy at all levels within the Subsidiary

·        Maintain focus and company growth of mandated target markets and key partners using existing sales staff and through personal involvement

·        Ensure sales staff are using company mandated systems

·        Through collaboration with senior management ensure strict compliance of policies and procedures

·        Responsible for sign-off on new accounts prior to assignment to commission/bonus program

·        Overall responsibility for implementing global sales commission/bonus programs at Subsidiary level

·        Create and follow up sales initiatives both in the field and with Trade Lane Director for specific lanes

·        Provide sales leadership and strategic planning for the Subsidiary

·        Lead and motivate entire sales force to achieve required gross profit growth for the Subsidiary

·        Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

·        Conduct performance evaluation for direct reports

·        Recommend hiring, firing and promotion

·        Identify and resolve personnel issues

·        Ongoing coaching and mentoring of staff to develop skills to the highest level


QUALIFICATIONS:

·        Excellent organizational skills

·        Excellent written and verbal skills

·        Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite

·        Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines

·        Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

·        Bachelors degree from accredited four year college or university or equivalent

·        Minimum of 5 years sales management experience in the logistics industry

·        Previous P&L experience desired
