Job Description

OBJECTIVE:

Oversee a group of project managers who assume responsibility for the life of the project with regards to quality, budget, schedule and customer satisfaction, from receipt of purchase order through final installation and acceptance at the customer’s site. Perform Administrative duties for Project Managers. Provide leadership and customer management direction to all Project Managers.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

·        Customer Satisfaction - Zero lost opportunities due to customer dis-satisfaction, divisional reputation, or past performance

·        Employee Development – Facilitate Individual Development Plans for each direct report and the reports of the Assembly Group leadership with a minimum of 12 documented interactions with report per Fiscal Year. 

·        Value Driver Performance - Achieve Approved Fiscal Plan (Bookings, Revenue, EBIT, Cash, OTD, FPY, Turnover, Internal Fill)

·        Business Model Performance – Achieve Approved Goal Deployment Fiscal Plan

·        Executive Leadership Team – Accountable to primary team in all commitments via extreme ownership

·        100% Governance & Compliance

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

·        Achieve and deliver project management group objectives and direct the project management team to deliver per contractual requirements

o  No Red Programs

o  Manage Systems for Deviations & CORs within 5 working days

o  Manage and Audit for 100% gate process conformance

o  Facilitate War Room, Project White Boards, and many other forms of visual management

·        Recommend departmental operating budget and operate department within the budget parameters.

·        Track performance based on a defined set of project management performance metrics aligned to contracts.

·        Work with other core functions to streamline methodologies, leveraging internal strengths through efficient team work and simple, concise procedures targeting performance and customer expectations.

·        Apply GAMP practices and continuously improve standards and customer deliverables to market or regulatory changes.

·        Update GM report with project status for dates, deviations, gates or milestones, and more as required.

·        Ensure appropriate amount of customer interface occurs as a means towards improving customer satisfaction levels on an ongoing basis – minimum of bi-weekly status reports.

·        Apply and monitor the standards and behaviors commensurate with the highest of professional standards to achieve company business objectives. 

·        Foster and support a cost conscious and efficiency based performance model in line with Project Management strategy.

·        Focus on managing risks of all projects including the build risk safety assessments and machine safety risk assessments.

·        Assist Applications Engineering with preparing quotations and customer pre-order visits when required.

·        Persuade key technical personnel at the customer site that *company name* is key to their success to influence subsequent buying decisions. Provide timely customer intelligence to the FEOTB. 

·        Delegate projects to Project Managers based on the skill set and experience level of team members.

·        Conduct project kick off and project status meetings with the project management team and the leads from other operational departments – NOT dept. managers – lead level to set expectations and ownership – accountability.

·        Advocate and foster a team environment both within the department and throughout the division.

·        Encourage and mentor employees to ensure that the build team’s morale and efficiency is maintained at the highest level.

·        Make recommendations and refinements to project management team job descriptions, competency models and pay scales. 

·        Implement comprehensive performance reviews for direct reports.

·        Produce succession candidates for the Director level roles using the *company name* process.

·        Regularly hold training for PMs to certify to PMP as a requirement or build team or individual behaviors in alignment with policies and annual budgets.

·        Produce annual strategic department objectives reviewed with GM and execute approved department plans.

·        Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the *company name* Code of Business Conduct.

·        Maintain, Train, and Improve upon existing ISO standards and systems.

·        Other duties as assigned.
